David Campbell
David Campbell joined American Airlines as an hourly aircraft mechanic following a career in the U.S. Air Force. Campbell worked his way through the ranks of the airline, at one point becoming Vice President of Base Maintenance for two of the airlines’ major aircraft overhaul facilities. This made him responsible for the safety and performance of what was the largest fleet of aircraft in the world at the time. He also has worked as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Technical Operations for American Eagle Airlines, making him next in line for the CEO’s position. Today Campbell works as Vice President of Safety, Security and Environmental for American Airlines.
